Welcome back to the 2016-2017 school year. It seems as though we were just at graduation shaking hands and handing out diplomas. Summer has flown by, and the staff and personnel at DTSE and Decatur Township have been busy preparing for the start of another exciting school year.
At DTSE we take pride in the fact that we are truly committed to the responsibility, academic achievement, and personal growth of every student. We strive to ensure that each student makes significant progress towards his or her potential. Our excellent staff works daily to build relationships with students that are meaningful, fostering an environment where everyone feels included and welcomed. At DTSE we are family! I encourage our current families to engage with us along this journey and would invite others to come see what we have to offer. Our year is filled with events and opportunities to volunteer and provide support. Check us out on Twitter ( @DTSExellence ) and Like Us on Facebook to stay connected.
Construction is still on-going. Our building is continuing to transform into a modern, state of the art educational institution that will increase our capacity to offer quality programs for our students and families. The LCC small school is looking forward to moving to the second floor over fall break. The BLM small school has settled in and is enjoying new classrooms and technology.
We want to be a school community where our staff, students, and families are proud to belong. DTSE students have had, and will continue to have, opportunities to connect their learning with real-world experiences. This past year students partnered with a wide range of businesses and community organizations that provided support and raised needed funds. Students participated in clubs and extra-curricular activities of their own interest. At DTSE students have a voice and opportunities to explore potential college and career paths.
We hope that you will have a great school year, and want you to know that we are here to serve you. Feel free to contact us with your wants, needs, or if you would like to help support our programs. Thanks for being a Trailblazer!
